It Keeps Traveling – The Practice
Notice What Remains
This week’s practice explores the possibility that our words, moods, and emotional tones may continue moving long after a moment seems to end.
A simple practice to observe what happens after something is spoken, shared, or expressed.
The Practice:
Today, choose one ordinary interaction and approach it with unusual attention.
A brief conversation at work.
A text message.
A greeting.
A response to irritation.
A moment of appreciation.
Before speaking, pause for just a second.
Notice the emotional tone you are about to send into the world.
Later in the day, return to that moment in memory.
What remained afterward?
Did that moment continue echoing inside you or the other person in some subtle way?
Did it keep traveling?
This practice is not about trying to sound spiritual, wise, or careful.
It is simply an experiment in noticing that words, moods, gestures, and emotional atmospheres may continue moving long after the moment itself has passed.

Words are not inert. Gracias for the reminder and the practice.
